Dragonfly Centre

Wicken Fen is one of the best places in the country to see dragonflies with over 21 species breeding on the fen.

On a warm sunny day thousands of these beautiful highly coloured insects can be seen performing their dramatic aerobatic flying displays along the waterway's and ditches.

The Dragonfly Centre is run by the British Dragonfly Society and Dragonfly Project. It is packed with interpretation and displays on dragonflies with knowledgeable enthusiasts on hand to help identify and answer your questions on dragonflies.

Opening Times

The Dragonfly Centre is open from 11am-4pm at weekends from 22 May-26 September and on selected days throughout the school summer holidays. Please contact the Wicken Fen Visitor Centre (01353 720274) for up to date opening times.

The Dragonfly Centre project is supported by the Fens Adventurers Rural Development Programme, an RDPE initiative funded by Defra, the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development: Europe investing in rural area and Local Authorities. The funding is managed locally by Cambridgeshire County Council, Cambridgeshire ACRE and regionally by EEDA. See http://ec.europa.eu/agriculture/rudev/index_en.htm
